IRON

Film still from the video for 'Iron'

Woodkid is film- & commercial director Yoann Lemoine, a Frenchie residing in the United States. His debut EP 'Iron' was released yesterday.
Keeping Yoann's daily life profession in mind, it comes as no surprise that the video for the lead single is nothing short of spectacular. The song is backed up by what seems like an entire orchestra - most notably the horns that give it a filmic character - and even the photography can only be described as majestic, it's quite reminiscent of Hedi Slimane's work.

The EP features four original tracks and two remixes for Iron, one by Mystery Jets and one by Gucci Vump (Brodinski + Guillaume Brière from The Shoes), the latter one probably being my favourite since it achieves a more clubby sound without giving up the orchestral splendour that set it apart in the first place.
'Iron' is out through Green United Music and can be bought here.
