SSSSOUNDTRACK PT. X - SUB AQUATIC PLEASURE FORTRESS

It's March already, but it is with great pleasure that I can share the first SSSSOUNDTRACK of the year with you, the 10th edition so far and a very special one it is! On decks is legend Andy Blake; Andy was once upon a time the captain of the good ship Dissident , a heavily armoured pirate vessel that he deliberately dashed upon the rocks a while back when he woke up one morning and realised he was bored with it and had better pack it in before everyone else decided they were too. 'Live fast, die young, and leave a beautiful corpse' appears to be the motto that this still much-loved imprint adhered to - and with only 200 copies of each release it was (and still is) highly sought after, e.g. I'm still looking for this one so if you ever come across it, hit me up!

From time to time Andy also provides remixes for music made by other people - including the likes of Alexander Robotnick, Detachments and Leee John from Imagination and is also, along with partner in crime Joe Hart, one of the shadowy figures behind the already infamous World Unknown.
Joe Hart or Andy Blake bring out a mix running up to each edition of the party, the next one being this Friday March 4th (check the FB page for more info), so the mix Andy put together for the blog is at the same time part of their World Unknown mix series.

'sub aquatic pleasure fortress' is exactly the words that come to mind when listening to the mix, don't expect the blogosphere's latest hot remixes, do expect some (of many) hidden gems to be found in Andy's vast amount of vinyl records, The Woodentops' 'Why Why Why' being one of them!
The mix starts of at a slow and hypnotic pace, while steadily evolving into a higly energetic balearic sound (or at least, the way balearic sounded when the word was invented).

download the mix here, listen to it below, and enjoy!
