GOTTA GO UNDERGROUND

Another post that is long overdue is a release I've been looking forward to a lot, Virgo Four's 'It's a Crime'. The original was never released up until recently, when Rush Hour brought out 'Resurrection', a collection of remastered demos the Chicago duo recorded on 4-track tapes between 1984 and 1990. Next to that original, the single also features remixes by Caribou and Hunee and while Hunee's remix goes down the safe route of traditional Chicago vibes (mind you, that does not make it a bad one), Caribou's remix has one step ahead for adding a pinch of 2011 to it.
It takes the track just over four minutes to give away it's fully layered composition, the first part being powerfully stripped down to its essentials plus Dan Snaith's added vocals, while the second is filled with easily recognisable Caribou elements - be it in a different way than what we're used to.
Get the Resurrection album here, and the 'It's A Crime single' here!
