Aeroplane's latest remix for Processory (Jori Hulkkonen) was debuted in his March mixtape, but when the remix officially came out, the one in the mix turned out to be an early version and the final remix had undergone a slight transformation. Sugarcane Records - who released the Processory album and remix EP - got that early version mastered anyway and are giving it away for free now. Joy!
Even though the intro and outro of the 'final' remix are constructed better, I quite prefer this second version for its subtility... Whichever you prefer, get the second version below and/or buy the original version here (buy the whole EP while you're at it, it's worth it).

SSSSOUNDTRACK PT.VIII - THE MANERO EDITION

Summer has been trying to sneak off, but we won't let it go without the right soundtrack to accompany its retreat. Number eight in the SSSSOUNDTRACK series will fit that bill perfectly: On decks this time is Manero, a project that started only a few months ago but behind it is a duo from London with a longlasting love for music. Their mixes are predominantly based around disco and house music, though they try to incorporate all the different styles and genres that influence them, such as 80s pop, motown, elements from 90s hip-hop, Detroit Techno, etc.

In this mix you're looking at edits form the likes of Spandau Ballet, Yazoo, Petshop Boys, fitted right next to more recent gems by (a.o.) Holy Ghost!, Ilija Rudman, CFCF, Hercules & Love Affair and (probably one of the most anticipated remixes of 2010), Tensnake's rendition of Azari & III's Reckless With Your Love. At the end of all this goodness is a beautiful Alalal remix of Metronomy that (at least I) hadn't been aware of until the boys pointed it out for us. Lovely all the way through.

In terms of the future, production work is in the pipeline for Manero, but they'll start putting stuff out there when it feels right - we all know those things shouldn't be rushed. At the moment they're adding the finishing touches to their own fortnightly podcast show (aiming to start Sept/Oct time), so there's more good things to come.
