Acid Washed have got a new EP in the pipeline, their eponymous single 'Acid Washed' will see a release on 17th of September, with no less than eight remixes. Most notable ones include Mickey Moonlight, The Hacker and... Danger. While we wait, have a listen to their September mix, with the latest of Visti & Meyland, Yuksek, Rodion, Logo, The KDMS and much more of course.
I've been following Acid Washed for a while now, the Parisian duo comprised of Andrew Claristidge and Richard D'Alpert have been popping up several times before on here and the diversity of what they've brought out up until now made me quite intrigued of what their debut album would sound like. I do need to mention it's one of those albums that'll grow on you. So if it doesn't hit you at first listen, give it another go and it'll hit you twice as hard. Personally, I quite like them working with vocals; 'Apply' with vocals by Lippie is one of my favourites on the album, but then again, tracks like 'General Motors, Detroit America' and 'Change' (posted below) are the quintessential Acid Washed sound that's so easy to distinguish.
Acid Washed's eponymous debut album is out now on Record Makers, pick it up at Colette.
Yes, the boys did it again. If you hadn't read about Acid Washed on here earlier, there's a big chance you came across them listening to Aeroplane's latest mix charts. This one's surprisingly more poppy than their previous work - wasn't expecting this - but how good does it turn out to be! Makes you wish for more, pop or not!
I told you there would be more and here it is! Acid Washed has quite a sound and if you remember the Sébastien Tellier remix I posted a while back you'll recognise it easily. They're releasing their debut EP on Record Makers November 23rd, featuring the track below and a track called Snake, backed up with remixes by Blackstrobe and Gavin Russom (DFA) respectively. Sounds delicious.
Sébastien Tellier's Fingers of Steel + L'amour et La Violence just got released with notable remixes by Boys Noize and Hypnolove, though here's another true gem that didn't make it to the vinyl. Acid Washed are newly signed to the Record Makers label, yet already got a 12" to be released in a month and an album mixed/produced by none other than Xaver Naudascher from Supersoul Recordings (DFA). They have a sound that does remind me of Supersoul and I'd never thought about combining it with Sébastien Tellier, but how great does it turn out to be!
